IMTA and IMT Global Health represent the beginning of an era for those of us who have spent decades developing and teaching Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT). We are taking our place within Integrative Medicine, the medicine of the future.

This new era of health care will include all disciplines: allopathic, osteopathic, chiropractic, naturopathic, homeopathic, physical therapy, occupational therapy, massage therapy, nutritional therapies, and Integrative Manual Therapy. IMT has always invited all professionals from all health care disciplines. Our health care system contributes to solutions for all patient populations.

During the past 30 years, our successes have been remarkable. We continue to study, learn and develop new material for more effective and efficient therapeutic intervention. Knowledge gleaned from medical literature, combined with clinical experience in the field has contributed to protocols and approaches which we now will share through our Association.

Those of you who know me know that I love delivering good news. And this issue of Digital News is full of good news - new tools to advance the field of IMT and to support you the professional in your professional growth and development, new programs opening, etc.

In February, 2004, we revealed IMTA's new logo and our new look. Well now the IMTA branding package is complete. Within the next few weeks, you will be receiving your long awaited Membership Certificates and Membership Cards. In July, we were also quite thrilled to deliver to your e-mail box our two newest member benefits:

  • Evidence-Based Medicine Bulletin for those Professional and Associate Members when they attend advanced-level courses. Our first edition, "Right Middle Lobe of the Lung, Its Association with Cancer" was sent to participants of the Lung Management Class held on May 22-24, 2004, and it contained abstracts from pertinent literature searches conducted by Kim Burnham, Director of Knowledge Management for DCR.
  • The Monthly Tech Bulletin, an electronic document created as a vehicle for myself and Tom to communicate the newest technology and protocols from the frontlines. Our first edition, "Comprehensive Assessment & Treatment for Hypovolemia" was sent to all Professional Members.

In addition, as this issue of Digital News arrives in your e-mail box, content is being input into the IMTA web site - www.IMTAssociation.org is slated to launch in September 1, 2004. Along with the IMTA branding package, the IMTA web site is part of an expanded IMTA presence which will raise public awareness of IMT and, of course as we grow provide you the member with more member benefits. You can read more about the web site on page 3.

Future plans for the IMTA web site are to include the e-Journal with case studies to provide further evidence-based medicine, discussion groups to provide you with opportunities to share and to question, along with many other member tools to support you in remaining informed and current.

This is your Association! Please provide your input towards its development as a comprehensive Association.
